I decided to write a rant! I have done this on several occasions, but tonight I just felt that this was much needed to the people who care, which probably is very few.
I will be putting up what has been written on my profile on Fanfiction.net and then add more or another one as I go along.
But first off I just want to say that I love feedback and am not afraid of good input. Worthless input that does not help improvement is input that does not need to be posted at all. If you are going to review, review! Just don't act like that is what you're doing.
Write down how the chapter was, give them a couple of your favorite parts so they know that they are actually funny and not just off their rocker. Tell them if they need to get a dictionary! Tell them if you cried or laughed so hard you fell off the chair. You need to give them input that will help and encourage the person to continue.
And for writers. I know it's hard listening to people when they are telling you things they don't like, but some of those people who bother to write down a review just might know what they are talking about.
I know... That's just to insane to think about, but really... they just might.
So listen to the input a bit and try to use it. Now if they are telling you to get main character A with character Z or just put character A with all the other characters in one big harem.... ignore those.
You know where you are going and you are the person writing the story, not someone else.
But... If they tell you that you are misspelling words or that your spacing sucks or something that is preventing them from enjoying the story you lay out before them, then stop, listen to what they are saying, review what you have written and decide that either they know what they are talking about or they are just idiots and you are all knowing and know what's what. (Sarcasm there)
If more then one person mentions it, it might be true.
But that doesn't mean you let the reviewers walk all over you. You are the writer and if you want to kill off the main character's little brother, you can. You will get a lot of hate mail for it, but you can. Technically something in the story killed off the brat anyways, so we can all just give it a rest on accusing the writer of being cold and heartless.
I might start to repeat myself, but it is about midnight where I am and I am slowly going insane as time goes by.
Writers, it is super important that you learn your characters. If it is an original story, good for you. I pray you know your characters as well or even better then yourself and are able to relate that on paper.
If it is fanfiction, you better know the characters as well as the cannon writer knows them or even better or you are a dead duck on water.
No one wants to sit there and read a bunch of crap that is totally OOC. No one.
You have to understand the characters and know what they will do, can't do, and will not do. They can't be perfect. No one is and nothing should be handed to them just like that. They have to obtain it by blood, sweat, and tears, people! Mary jane crap is lame!
Take Naruto for example:
He spent the first 12 or 13 years of his life fighting to be noticed and acknowledged by people. Slowly but surely as he continuously fought and put his life at the line, did that number begin to grow till he had a great multitude of people love him and adore him. Not all at once, but slowly.
Sakura:
She was obsessive over civilian things and didn't take her training seriously. She had her heart crushed by her crush and that was when she really started to turn around. She had to fight for everything she got after that because her mentor was tough and even after that people never took her seriously until she showed them how serious she could be.
Sasuke:
People. I know most people hate him and bash him along with Sakura but come on... It's old.
Learn your characters and you can see that he is afraid of letting people in. He came home one day and instead of finding milk and cookies made by his mother, he finds everyone he loved dead except for his brother who supposively did all the killing. Then his brother told him to hate him and one day kill him before putting a genjutsu on the boy so he had to watch his family die over and over again for three days....
That's going to make him a little... strange in the head. some Post-Dramatic-Stress there people. He has to have some OCD too that developed from the PDS.
So writers, think about the characters. Write it down if you have to, but get to know them. Write down the basics of their personalities, their tendencies, their speech habits (Datteybayo), their weaknesses, strengths, likes, dislikes, what they strive for, and the like.
Know them. That is all you can do and it will make your story great if you can make sure to tell the story with those things in mind. The more real they become in your head, the better they come down during the writing process.
That's all from me for now... I'm sleepy and want to go to bed.

She has a almost clone of Sasori in it named Kagerou. Meikai is a little child of a prosititute that Hidan might have spelt with since people can't kill her, and Sakura's pregnant with Deidara's.
Read it, see if you like it.
I find that if I have too many story ideas, I write them down vaugely, getting the excitement out of my head, then go back to the one I was writing before. Or just dance around with music as I think about it, then grow tired of the idea that way.
Whatever works
and I'll take a look at the fic, sounds good cause your storys usually are^^
